Typo research

Written by Sora. Posted in: School

Okay, looks like my blog’s server connection issue has been resolved(hopefully for good).

We were given a task to make a billboard design and then make it into a real life photo montage in class last week.
Images, logos and etc were given to us.
Here’s my outcome,

So this time we were given another task as our homework but it’s only the research and whatnot,
here’s a few research I’ve done for my typo thingy.
Didn’t do much on the typographers thingy but…. xD

2 typographers:-

David Carson

His site is too damn long, so I apologize that I can’t show you everything but you should go visit his site.
It may not contain much info but if you click on the external links given, you’ll be enlightened.

Nick Shinn

On the other hand, Nick Shinn’s site is more or less just trying to sell his typefaces(no doh).
I find it very good way if he wants to sell his typefaces this way.
Users can test all his fonts, as you can see on the left side and you can choose whatever type(such as bold, italic, etc etc), sizes, leading, and etc.
Then you can type out your desired text in that little bar above the “PDF BUY LINK TO THIS PAGE” thingy.

As for the book, I’m too lazy to type it out here.
Onto the introduction of our local industrial companies.
I have found quite a number though, only some of them caught my eye lol.

Exile Studio

After scrolling through, they’re doing the following,
Web Design, Web Marketing, Content Management, E-Commerce, Branding, Graphic Design and few more.

Bean Design Studio

They’re doing the following,
Web Design, Printing, Multimedia, Advertising - Branding, Promotional Items

Sannarts Design Studio

They’re actually freelancers for hire.
Specialize in Photography, Web Design & Illustration.

There’s a few more other sites but it’s not interesting enough, so that’s it and I’m off to bed.
Good luck to Ben and the others in MM071-1 for their Web Design 2 Presentation later~ <3

P/S Wow, long post. Been a while lol.
